Overview of our Course system

 

Nordic Walking Instructor

This course is for Fitness coaches, Pilates instructors and Personal Trainers to use Nordic Walking as a fantastic tool to train their clients.

Physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, homeopaths and nutritionists should also use Nordic Walking within their treatments to improve the general health of their patients.

 

Nordic Walking Leader

This 1-day course is for athletic coaches and fitness enthusiasts who are motivated to promote Nordic Walking to the community and local sports clubs. As a REPs registerered fitness professional you gain 10 CECs joining our course.

 

Nordic Walking Intensive Starter

This 1-day course is for everybody who is interested in Nordic Walking but can not join a weekly course due to a busy life or because because of living in remoter parts of New Zealand. As a REPs registerered fitness professional you gain 10 CECs joining our course.

Course Overview

Our compact REPs registered NoWaNZ Intensive Starter course offers both, a sound grounding in the basic Nordic Walking techniques as well as safe stretching and strengthening exercises. This is the ideal course for participants, who can not join a regular class and want to qualify for the Leader course or just want to acquire the Nordic Walking technique as thorough as possible.

  • History and evolution of Nordic Walking
  • Health and fitness benefits of Nordic Walking
  • The two basic Nordic Walking techniques
  • Modification for different terrains and surfaces
  • Nordic Walking stretches
  • Nordic Walking strengthening exercises

This 1.5 day course is for Fitness and Health Professionals only. It gives a profound knowledge about gait and the anatomically correct Nordic Walking movement. Participants learn modifications for the usual Nordic Walking techniques – especially for older adults. The course also provides a wealth of Nordic Walking games, advanced strengthening exerciese as well as advanced stretches.

  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Nordic Leader Certificate
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in taking Nordic Walking courses
  • Health/Fitness Professional diploma(certificate.
